Lifehacker Dion Almaer's Easy Path To Losing 100 LBS

In less than a year, Dion Almaer of Lifehacker lost 100 pounds. In an overweight body, it's hard to stay on a diet or exercise routine. Instead, Almaer took a simpler route to lose 1/3 of his body weight. He didn't begin with exercising or cutting down his meals - he began by eating better food.

Better food kick-started his journey. By eating better only, he lost 20 pounds in his first 2 weeks. That simple step restored his energy levels. Dieting and exercising then became natural.

It makes sense. We're spoiled - in the wrong way. Processed junk is given to us in convenient packaging, with low quality energy and big portions.

We might be fooled by such convenience, but our bodies are not. It won't be long until our bodies recognize. And then, we get hungry more often and eat more. Without nutritional balance and excessive calories, we get tired easily and lose motivation to exercise. We quickly descend into a vicious cycle. We become fat.

Ok, at a first glance, fast food may be cheaper and quicker. But, you eat less often when you eat real food. And, you waste less on energy drinks, self help info, and medical expenses. Plus, good food gives back the health and energy levels you deserve.

Many people can't overcome the psychology of eating weird foods like tongue or liver. But, they eat sausages made with those animal bits everyday! If you're open minded, you can get meat at 1/10 the price. And, there are tons of amazing exotic cut recipes.

Use a food scale to save time and money. You wash fewer dishes by measuring out all your ingredients in a single bowl. Plus, you don't waste foods that get stuck on measuring cups and spoons. This waste might seem tiny, but it adds up over time.

Eating better isn't as simple as pressing a few buttons on a vending machine, but investing in good food will pay you and your family back in many folds. Break the cycle, start eating better today!
